  • Try to be active for at least 45-60 minutes a day.
  • It’s good to 'work up a sweat'.
  • You should get mildly out of breath at times in your activity.
  • Joining a sports or youth club is a great way to get active and make new friends. Try swimming, football, karate, hurling/camogie, majorettes etc.
  • Walk or ride a bike instead of being driven.
  • Play games with your friends that are fun and challenging.
  • Count how many steps you take a day, you will be surprised! Try using a pedometer and work it out in kilometers.
  • When you exercise, your brain releases a chemical called endorphins (say: en-dor-finz), which may make you feel happier.

It's just another reason why exercise is cool!
